Customer Review: Cleaner water and big savings...

Before I purchased this water filter, I was purchasing those 12oz bottles of Poland Spring at the market. While $8 for a pack of 24 wasn't a lot of money by itself, it can really add up in the long run. Not to mention all the wasted 1/2 drunk bottles laying around the house.By my calculations, one of these Brita filters is the equivalent of 426 12oz bottles of water. In other words, one Brita filter creates as much filtered water as $142 worth of bottled water. Now that doesn't sound too bad does it?
Of course all the savings would be pointless if the filtered water was not drinkable. And that's the best part, the water tastes very clean. No chlorine aftertaste - at least none that I can detect. I'm sure that if I were to bottle this water up and serve it as Poland Spring, no one would be any the wiser.
One important thing to note about this item, after I received my first one from Amazon, there was a slow leak coming from the spigot. Brita customer service really shined out in this case. They immediately dropped a new spigot in the mail and I received it in 3 days. Unfortunately, the spigot wasn't the cause of the problem so I made another call to the CSR's of Brita. They immediately mailed out a new plastic container which eventually solved the problem.
Do the right thing. Stop killing the environment with buckets of plastic bottles and get a water filtration system.

I recommend buying this 2-Gallon UltraMax over the pitchers. It lies flat on the shelf and has a easy to use tap. No longer have to lift 3 quarts of liquid with one hand. With this design you simply open the door and fill using the tap. With the pitcher models, the tilt and weight tend to be awkward and are easy to spill or overpour. The Ultra Max hold about 2 1/2 times the water (less refilling).Customer Review: Encourages my family to drink more water!

I have always had a problem with drinking the suggested 8-8oz glasses of water per day. But the Brita dispenser is so simple to use and makes water taste so GOOD that it has encouraged everyone in my house to drink more. I even have a 3-year-old who loves to open the fridge and get herself a cup. A great buy - no problems with the spicket or anything else!Customer Review: Good tasting water at last!

I bought this after getting tired of nasty tasting city water. To fill it, I use a big plastic pitcher, and it sits on the counter near the coffee pot as I don't require cold water for drinking. The taste is so much better! The filters are not all that expensive; I bought a box of three when I purchased the thing and they lasted me almost a year. I am in a one-person household. I feel this system is much easier to use than the pitcher or the on-the-faucet systems which have been known to pop off in use, and much less expensive and easy to use than the in-line systems.Customer Review: Good, but not great

I upgraded from the 3-quart pitcher to this model and I find I use this one more frequently (no lifting during dispense) and I find it very convenient in terms of how it fits in the fridge (perfectly) and its sheer mass (children can frolic in it during the summer months). But it suffers from three inadequacies: 1) it takes 2-3 fill-ups of the top chamber to fill the unit so you have to come back to it several times over the course of 15 minutes. 2) the cover doesn't snap on so if the top resevoir area still has water in it the chance of you heaving a 2-gallon container into your Frigidaire without spilling any into the crisper is near nil. 3) if there are any dishes in your sink, this won't fit there to fill up so you invariably have to pitcher the water into the top.I wouldn't hesitate to buy this again and I would highly recommend this over the pitcher, but it seems clear the design could be improved.
